This Privacy Policy applies to the SpeakToMe mobile application and this website. It
explains what information Sendsorta collects, how we use it, when we share it, and the
choices available to parents and guardians.
1. Who we are
SpeakToMe is provided by Sendsorta. For the purposes of applicable data protection law,
including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, Sendsorta is the controller of
personal data processed through SpeakToMe unless this policy states otherwise.
Registered address: 71-75 Shelton Street, London, England, WC2H 9JQ, UK
2. Children and parent supervision
SpeakToMe is intended to be configured and supervised by a parent, guardian, carer,
school, or therapist working with a child. We expect an adult to review settings,
permissions, and use of the app.
Because SpeakToMe may process short voice recordings from children, we ask adults to
use the app only where they are authorised to provide consent or another valid legal
basis for that use.
3. Information we collect
Locally stored app settings. Child display name, routine settings,
recent attempts, and unlock progress are stored on the device using local app storage.
Short audio clips and transcription metadata. When transcription is
enabled, the app sends short voice clips, expected answers, prompt identifiers,
locale, clip length, and a generated device identifier to our backend so the response
can be transcribed and scored.
Transcription output and scores. The app receives text transcripts
and scoring results so it can decide whether an answer passed.
Operational usage records. We keep a device-based daily usage record
to enforce transcription limits and help prevent abuse of the service.
Subscription and purchase information. If you use paid features, our
subscription provider RevenueCat and the relevant app store may process purchase
history, subscription status, transaction and receipt information, product
identifiers, and an app-specific customer identifier used to restore purchases and
unlock paid features.
Support communications. If you email us, we will receive the
information you choose to include in your message.
Marketing sign-up information. If an adult signs up on the website,
we collect the email address, stated role, consent record, source page, fit-check
result if available, referral or campaign parameters, and basic visitor/session
identifiers used to understand the website funnel. We do not ask for child names or
child diagnoses in these forms.
Website and hosting logs. Our hosting providers may process basic
technical information such as IP address, browser type, request path, timestamps, and
security events when this website is visited.
4. Website cookies and analytics
This website uses a cookie and analytics choice banner before optional tracking starts.
You can accept or reject analytics tracking. Rejecting analytics does not block access to
the website, resources, app store links, or support information.
If you accept analytics, we use Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics and our own
first-party funnel events to understand how adults find the website, which pages are
viewed, whether store links are clicked, and whether website sign-up forms are
submitted. This helps us improve the website and understand whether the onboarding
funnel is working.
Analytics may use cookies, local storage, session storage, visitor/session identifiers,
page URLs, referrers, campaign parameters, device/browser information, and event data.
We do not use analytics to ask for child names, child diagnoses, or child voice
recordings on the website.
You can change your choice at any time:

5. How we use information
To operate the SpeakToMe app and present the practice flow.
To convert short spoken answers into text and score the response.
To validate subscriptions, determine entitlement status, restore purchases, and
present subscription paywalls through RevenueCat and the relevant app store.
To maintain device-level usage caps and protect the backend from misuse.
To send website sign-up emails and practical SpeakToMe updates where an adult has
consented to receive them.
To answer support requests and improve product reliability.
To host, secure, and deliver this website.
6. RevenueCat and subscriptions
SpeakToMe uses RevenueCat as a subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat helps
us determine whether a device has access to paid features, present subscription purchase
options, and restore purchases made through Apple App Store or Google Play.
Based on the current app implementation, RevenueCat is configured using
RevenueCat-generated anonymous customer identifiers rather than a custom SpeakToMe
account login. RevenueCat may therefore process purchase history, subscription status,
product identifiers, store transaction data, receipt data, locale, currency code, and
the anonymous app user ID it creates for subscription management.
We do not currently configure RevenueCat customer attributes for contact information
such as name, email address, or phone number from inside the app.
7. Legal bases for processing
Where UK or EEA data protection law applies, we generally rely on:
Consent when an adult chooses to enable microphone access and submit
a child's spoken response for transcription, or when a website visitor accepts
optional analytics cookies and similar storage.
Contract or pre-contractual steps to provide the service you asked
us to provide, including subscription access where applicable.
Legitimate interests for service security, abuse prevention,
troubleshooting, and support.
Legal obligations where we must retain or disclose information under
law.
8. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:
Hosting and infrastructure providers that deliver the website and
backend services, including Firebase infrastructure used to operate the transcription
endpoint and usage-limit records.
Speech processing providers used through our server-side backend to
transcribe short audio clips that you submit.
Subscription infrastructure providers including RevenueCat, and
platform payment providers such as Apple and Google, to validate purchases, manage
subscriptions, restore entitlements, and operate paywalls.
Email marketing providers including Brevo, where an adult chooses to
sign up for the starter guide or product updates.
Analytics providers including Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics,
where a website visitor accepts optional analytics tracking.
Professional advisers, regulators, or authorities where disclosure
is required to comply with law or protect rights, safety, or security.
9. Data retention
Local app data remains on your device until you change it, clear the
app's storage, or remove the app.
Operational usage-limit records are currently retained for up to 35
days and then purged from the backend.
Support emails are retained for as long as reasonably needed to
handle your request, maintain records, or protect our legal position.
Marketing contact records are retained until you unsubscribe, request
deletion, or we no longer need them for the purpose they were collected.
Website analytics choices are stored in the browser so we can remember
whether analytics was accepted or rejected. Analytics and funnel event records are kept
only for as long as reasonably needed to understand and improve the website funnel.
Audio submitted for transcription is used for live processing. We do
not design SpeakToMe as an archive of child voice recordings.
Subscription records may be retained by RevenueCat and the
underlying app store for as long as needed to manage purchases, restorations, fraud
prevention, accounting, and legal compliance under their own retention practices.
10. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we
rely on appropriate safeguards available under applicable law, such as standard
contractual clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms.
This may include providers such as RevenueCat and other infrastructure partners that
operate from, or use sub-processors in, the United States and other jurisdictions
outside the UK.
If analytics is accepted, this may also include Google/Firebase analytics processing
outside the UK or EEA, subject to the safeguards used by those providers.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict,
or object to certain processing, and to request portability of certain data.
To make a request, email info@sendsorta.co.uk.
We may need to verify your identity and request details before acting.
If your request relates to subscription records handled through RevenueCat, we may need
to use RevenueCat tooling to action the request.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information
handled through SpeakToMe. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so
we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version on this website is the
current version. This policy was last updated on May 1, 2026.
